Volunteers needed for Joiner Cemetery clean up

Published: Monday, May 6, 2013 11:37 a.m. CDT

The Joiner Restoration Committee clean-up day is set to get ready for the Memorial Weekend Ceremony.

Clean-up day at the Joiner Cemetery will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. Since 2005, members of Boy Scout Troop 40 have helped the DeKalb County Forty-and-Eight with the clean-up, but more volunteers are always needed. Those who can provide mowers, weed-eaters, rakes and other tools also are appreciated.

There will be a short Memorial Day Service at the Joiner Cemetery at 8:15 a.m. on Memorial Day, May 27. The Joiner Cemetery is west of Sycamore on West Old State Road, just east of Five Points Road.
