Barrett J. Corneille, a 1973 graduate of DeKalb High School, was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers on April 5 in Newport Beach, Calif.

The IATL is an invitation-only professional association for corporate and insurance defense lawyers around the world. Membership is comprised of the world’s leading corporate and insurance lawyers.

The International Academy of Trial Lawyers limits membership to 500 fellows from the United States, from both the plaintiff and defense bars.

Corneille graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law in 1980 and practices law from his office in Madison. He is the founder of Corneille Law Group, and limits his practice to insurance and medical malpractice defense.

He has defended clients in more than 200 jury trials, to verdict, in his career.
