DeKALB – Police were searching Friday for four men they suspect of beating an 18-year-old DeKalb man in retaliation for an armed robbery.

Isaiah S. Brown robbed Sean Mitchell, 18, and two of Mitchell’s friends at gunpoint about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at their housing complex, police said. Brown told police he used a BB gun, court records show. Brown and Mitchell live in different units at University Plaza, in the 900 block of Crane Drive in DeKalb.

Later that evening, the three robbery victims recruited four friends, broke into Brown’s home, pushed him to the floor and beat him, DeKalb police Lt. Bob Redel said. Brown’s roommate was home but was not involved in the fight, Redel said.

“[Brown] had visible injuries, but he did not need medical attention,” Redel said.

Four men appeared in court Friday morning in connection with the incidents as police continued their investigation. Redel declined to name the four people still being sought Friday.

Brown was charged with armed robbery and aggravated robbery; his bond was set at $30,000.

Mitchell was charged with home invasion and mob action, as were: Dre’mar Blue, 20, and Darcie Morris, 22, both of the 1200 block of Blackhawk Road. Morris’ bond was set at $50,000, while Mitchell’s was set at $30,000 and Blue’s was set at $60,000.

If convicted of armed robbery or home invasion, the men each could be sentenced to between six and 30 years in prison.

All four men remained in DeKalb County Jail on Friday afternoon.
